Here are the instructions to get to the cabin.
- Drive north on highway 63
- Turn left onto Thickwood Boulevard
- Turn right at the Pizza Hut (onto Woodland Drive)
- Make first left onto Tamarack Way
- Enter the gravel parking lot by the Frank Spragins School

The cabin is located at the end of the parking lot on the edge of the trees.
This is also the main entrance to the Birchwood Trail System.

Hello!

I am so excited, this coming Sunday will be our first long run! Please come
prepared to run/walk.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to run start at 8am.

The first few runs will be spent focusing on finding the right pace group
for each participant. There will be several group leaders who will guide you
to your optimal pace group. Pace groups are based on the minutes it takes to
complete a kilometre and are broken into the following groups (*these may be
adjusted based on the group):

9 minutes / kilometre

8.5 minutes / kilometre

8 minutes / kilometre

7.5 minutes / kilometre

7 minutes / kilometre

Here are some tips to help determine the pace group that is right for you:

- while running you should still be able to carry on a conversation
- you want to run slow enough that by the end you feel tired but strong,
this will help for a faster recovery
- have fun!

The weather forecast for Sunday is calling for a low of 1 degrees celsuis.
Please take this into consideration when determining what to wear. It is
recommended that you dress for slightly higher than the actual temperature
because as you start running your body will begin to warm up and you don't
want to overheat. Dressing in layers is a good way to avoid overheating.

See you Sunday!
